Don’t be fooled by what you find here; this is all just stuff you found on the internet. Take your questions to your doctor and have a real conversation with them about your healthcare.
This is put together with a vision of:
Being a resource should the brain altogether fail but no one notices, and I'm just going with it, using this as a resource to fake my way through.
More practically, as a resource for when I think I know, but am just not sure, and it's taking too god damn much energy and time to try and remember what exactly I need to do to get the thing done I need done. This is where I find the reminders and resources for moments like that.

Styles of Cardiology
General Cardiology:
Medical management & sorting things out; medications, therapies, treatments, testing
Interventional:
They go in and do the thing, usually via cardiac cath, but I’m sure they do other stuff too. They also know the CVTS folks.
Structural:
Valve Clinic, replacements/TAVR, MitraCips, Watchman, un-defecting the defects (ASO, PFO). Good buddies with Heart and Lung, CardioVascular Thoracic Surgery (CVTS)
Electrophysiology (EP):
Devices, medications, procedures, devices, defib devices, ablations, all the stuff for wrestling with unruly rhythms.
“4. The patient is the one with the disease.
13. The delivery of good medical care is to do as much nothing as possible.”
“Treat the patient, not the number”
OMG, she could be having a cardiac event. Or not. I don’t know. Maybe she’s just relieved at the collaborative patient care she’s about to get.
You know, on some deep level, I think this guy changed my life.
There could be an argument to be made for this to be viewed as an artistic representation of the medical system, in particular the “Ahhh! your leg! It’s caught in a bear trap!” part. That really resonated with me on a deep level.

Vision and Desire
To create an AI-enhanced healthcare ecosystem that prioritizes human connection serving as a supportive tool to enhance, not replace, human judgment and interaction in healthcare delivery while optimizing clinical efficiency through:
Breaking down departmental silos to enable seamless information flow and collaboration across the spectrum of care
Empowering healthcare providers with AI-assisted knowledge management and workflow automation
Maintaining the essential human elements of patient care while leveraging technology to reduce administrative burden
Leveraging AI to streamline administrative tasks, giving healthcare providers more time and cognitive space for meaningful patient interactions and clinical decision-making in the moment.
Background
I’ve been fortunate to become the type of nurse other nurses look to for support and guidance.
With 20+ year background in healthcare from CNA through Paramedic to ER nurse (H1N1 through Ebola and the Emergency Preparedness Gap Crisis) into a Primary Care Nurse in Internal Medicine (COVID) to the Cardiology Clinic within which I now reside, over the course of three major corporate changes, crossing through 4-5 different EHR's, (Athena and Epic the most prominent), I've been a background mentor where mentoring wasn't in the plan or the budget.
Coming out of a troubled childhood, I emerged as a creative at heart with a passion for journaling, learning, and helping others; helping lift them up to thrive and grow.
Enraptured by AI
I feel like my life has been derailed by AI. For now, sorting and editing my pile of writings is on hold while I sort through and engage with what AI is becoming. An early adopter in my immediate peer group (ChatGPT and Notion in particular), I wonder if it was my retreat in childhood into a box of used books given in passing by an uncle containing books by Heinlein, Asimov, Hubbard and more, or the vast amount of time I spend adventuring in my own head trying to sort myself and the world out, but I find a profound affinity and passion for AI.
I see and feel what the future could be with this, my first revelation and thought of application here. This was a month into my discovery of understanding AI and terms/ideas in AI have developed or changed significantly from then (looking at you “agent”), and it both excites and scares the hell out of me. I still get so excited about the potential it can be hard to talk.
One misshapen lump of an attempt with Ollama on an underpowered laptop makes a case to stay up front where I find a high affinity with prompt engineering, manipulating and collaborating with AI to see what we can sort out together. It’s one of the most fascinating patients I've worked with.
Pinnacle Projects
Six of the seven years I spent as a primary care nurse in an Internal Medicine clinic, I was part of a tight-knit group involved in a pilot project where I ended up repeatedly stuck in rooms with seasoned and only mildly crusty Internists (one clearly took lessons home from The Fat Man). I was fortunate to be the dumbest one in the room most days.
This amplified my clinical acumen and intensified my professional growth. I acknowledge these are big ass words for “I learned lots from smart people.’
There was a year and a half at the end of my time in Internal Medicine where I developed and implemented a provider supervised RN Medicare AWV program. This opened up an average of 4 provider visit slots per week, along with increasing patient satisfaction scores and engagement.
For the three years I've been in Cardiology, I have leveraged this prior clinical training and experience with managing patient populations to provide an innovative and intensive support framework that extends a depth of professional backing that set a new standard (only an 8% chance he’s being nice when he says this).
AI assisted Clinic wiki prototype. I expanded a knowledgebase developed in Notion for personal use into a framework for a clinic wide resource, with a vision to expand across multiple siloed department. Project on hold due to a freeze on IT projects.
Multiple personal AI planning projects
One deeper attempt to open, integrate, install, and run Ollama with WSL, Ubuntu, and Docker on a home computer, eventually successful only to run into hardware limitations unable to run queries through a Docker web UI. This is not the part of AI where I am strong. At all. Ohhh, so happy, and then ohh so sad, but still, some good lessons learned here.
